W Seoul

W is a selection of lifestyle hotels around the world. W Seoul was my first experience with the chain and what a great experience. While many hotels around the world feel the same, the W concept is totally different. It’s not something for everyone, but it’s certainly something for me. The main target for W hotels is the younger generation up to the age of 35, but it depends on your personal preference.

Because of my Starwood Preferred Guest Platinum Status, I got upgraded to a suite called Fantastic Suite which I loved. The design was top modern, and it had a lovely, large freestanding bathtub. The bed was surely one of the best beds I’ve slept in and is called W Signature Bed. The bedroom had a fantastic large 50″ inch plasma Tv with Bose Entertainment System which is another unique feature of W. Other great features was automatic curtains and face wash. Yes, I loved that product and the first time I’ve seen a face wash in a hotel. All the products were from Bliss spa, which can be found in all W.-hotels.

The service is always the most important thing, and it exceeded my expectations as well. It was professional, and they took care of a major problem. They had put me into a Fantastic Suite smoking room even though my SPG profile clearly says non-smoking. A few minutes after my feedback, I was escorted to a Fantastic Suite. The food and facilities are great too, and overall it’s close to the best city hotels in the world. It’s not a hotel for everyone; it depends on your personal preference, but I loved it and can highly recommend it for people travelling to Seoul and only want’s to stay in the best.
