Soneva Fushi

Soneva Fushi is one of The Maldives best and most famous resorts. It used to be part of Six Senses, but are now on their own. I arrived excited to see how great it could be. The arrival experience was very impressive with several staff to welcome me. I received a cold towel and welcome drink before being escorted to my villa for in-room check in.

I stayed in a Beach Villa which had the typical, eco friendly Six Senses design. Easy access to the beach which was as fantastic as you can imagine in your dreams. The Maldives is a must visit destination and although it’s gotten a lot cheaper, the world class resorts like this still costs a fortune. In Soneva Fushi you get a lot for your money. The villas also have outdoor bathtub and shower and natural amenities. Upstairs is the bedroom with a comfortable bed and wonderful views of the Maldivian sea.

What makes Soneva Fushi among the best properties in The Maldives is the service. Their butler service is especially impressive and called Mr. & Mrs. Friday. My butler was fantastic, well-trained and a very kind attitude. There is lots of activites and facilities so you never get bored, even if you should stay two weeks. I stayed one night and had a wonderful treatment at their spa which is highly recommended. Yes, it’s expensive, but if you can afford to stay in Soneva Fushi you can easily afford a spa treament and in that case it will be worth it.

In remote locations food is always very important as you have to eat there is there is no other restaurants. Soneva Fushi gets it right. One of the best breakfasts in the world with a great selection of food with high quality items. The lunch buffet is also up there among the best lunch buffets I’ve had. Ala carte dinner was wonderful as well. Soneva Fushi is expensive, but they really spend a lot of money to create an experience of this high level. 350-400 employees works on the island which is among the highest in The Maldives pr. room.

To sum up, Soneva Fushi is a world class experience and you should not hesitate if you can afford it. If you can’t there are many great alternatives in The Maldives, but they are cheaper and not on the same level.

My opinion: Fantastic experience.
