The check in was very nice and they escoted me to my upgraded luxury room. The room was extremely nice and had a beautiful design as a good W. hotel. It looked very different and better from the other Sofitel’s I’ve stayed. There was delicious chocolates in the room and a complimentary minibar which was a great thing. The internet is very expensive with 20 euro per. 24 hours, but there is a computer in the business centre guests can use free of charge.
This hotel is about as good as the Sofitel in Berlin. I believe it’s one of the best Sofitel hotels worldwide and comparable to the weakest Four Seasons or Mandarin Oriental hotels. The service is great by European standards, same about the rooms and location. The facilities is OK with a smaller health club, and I like the size of the hotel. Only 128 rooms are quite good for a city hotel as city hotels often is too big in my opinion. Smoking is not allowed in the lobby but is allowed in the bar on the top. Unacceptable in my opinion, but I think this will change as it’s been everywhere else in the last 10-15 years. Besides that a great hotel and surely the best in Luxembourg.
My opinion: Great experience.
