Sea Five Boutique Hotel used to be part of the Last Word collection and with only 7 rooms I expected a very personalized experience.
The hotel is located 300 metres from the beautiful beach called Camps Bay, but it was quite difficult to find the hotel. No sign or anything, but I was told that is the way they want it. To be, look and feel different from usual hotels. The arrival experience was very nice and personalized. Welcome drink of your choice and a cold towel which was perfect on a hot day. I was right after escorted to the room.
I stayed in a Garden Room which is the smallest in the hotel. 27 square metres without bathtub, but with a private garden. Beautiful designed and with a great feel to it.
The staff was really great, friendly, serviceminded and well-trained, especially Zimbabwian Rose was just excellent. It’s definitely one of the most intimate and personalized hotels I’ve stayed in. It only has a swimming pool, bar and lounge area. All very beautiful design by top South African interior designers, Francois Du Plessis and Nicolò Stortiglione Pudel.
The design and attention to detail makes Sea Five Boutique Hotel special. It’s all about the guest. I also loved the fully stocked complimentary minibar which even had lots of alcoholic drinks. The internet was also complimentary and fast. Welcome amenities, chocolates at turndown, handwritten welcome card and small notes were other details. A hotel I not only enjoyed, but also learned from. Sea Five is an experience and a must if you want a relaxing holiday in Cape Town.
My opinion: Great experience.
