Riad Fes is a beautiful Relais&Châteaux associated property and surely the best property I stayed in the historic city of Fes. The rooms are authentic and with a Moroccan design. The beds are comfortable, although not soft as I personally prefer. The bathroom amenities are Relais&Châteaux branded and without bathtubs.
The food is always important in a R&C and it was very good and probably the best restaurant in Fes. That being said, it wasn’t up to the standards of the Relais&Châteaux in Europe where most of them have a Michelin star or deserve one. The breakfast was by far the best I had in Fes as well with a great selection of food and ala carté choices.
The service level was high in the restaurant and I found all staff to be very friendly. The English skills was good at front desk and restaurants, but the challenge is to get all staff in all departments to a level of English, especially the housekeepers. The facilities included a beautiful spa and an outdoor swimming pool.
Finally it’s worth to mention Riad Fes don’t allow smoking in their lobby unlike other Riads and for me it makes a difference. I would never go back to a Riad that allows smoking in the lobby, but it’s hard to know their smoking policy before you arrive.
Overall a lovely Riad experience that deserves Relais&Châteaux status and to be rated as a great experience by me.
My opinion: Great experience.
