Radisson Hotel Brunei Darussalam

Brunei is one of the smallest countries in the world and doesn’t have many luxury hotels. This hotel and The Empire is the only options for people that only wants to stay in good hotels. Since the feedback of The Empire wasn’t that good, I decided to go for the value and selected Radisson Utama as my hotel in Brunei. The hotel used to be a Sheraton and is the perfect choice for tourists to explore Brunei. It is located in downtown and within 1 hour you can see all the sightseeing Brunei has to offer. The city is that small. The hotel itself is not top class, but it’s as good as you would expect a Radisson hotel to be.

I stayed in a standard room the first night facing the traffic road, and it was hard to sleep because I could hear the traffic all the time. I complained about it the next morning, and they transferred me to a Club Room which was much nicer. This room had a flatscreen Tv, but besides that it was outdated like the standard room. The most important thing when walking into this hotel is that you don’t have too high expectations. I had a dinner buffet included in my reservation, and it was quite nice with a lot of choices. Thier club lounge is not very nice, and they allow smoking, which a lot of people hate including me.

While this is a hotel with a focus on business, there is also opportunities to relax. There is a nice swimming pool and a health club as well. Overall one of the only two options in Brunei and overall good value.

My opinion: Good experience.
