Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur

Mandarin Oriental is one of the most prestigious hotel brands in the world. Having had wonderful experiences in their Thailand properties, I went to this hotel with high expectations.

When I arrived at the hotel, I was surprised that I had to wait for 2 minutes at check in, I know it’s a hotel with over 600 rooms, but a Mandarin Oriental should be able to organise such things better. After the wait, I was escorted to their lounge where I had my welcome drink. After that, I was escorted to my suite.

I stayed in a great Park Suite that had 82 square metres with a view of the park. Separate living- and bedroom and two flat screen Tvs. The bathroom might be a little dated but is still acceptable for 2010.

My confirmation included a spa and since I had read many good things about the spa I went there with high expectations. I asked the masseur Betty to focus on my back since my bag is in bad condition. After the spa, it felt a lot better. It was the best spa I’ve ever had.

The facilities and restaurants are very impressive and look as top class as it should be. The service is great, and every staff is well trained. Overall the hotel is up to my expectations, it’s not one of the very best in the world, but it belongs in a top500 list for sure. The value is outstanding, and it’s a memorable experience no matter how high your standards are.

My opinion: Great+ experience.
