The welcome experience was very nice with kind staff and a coconut icecream was offered as a welcome amenity, but unfortunately as the only thing. A welcome drink is a must in my opinion and I was surprised it wasn’t offered as part of the arrival experience. I stayed in a Deluxe Room which was great for the value of money, but not comparable to the other 5-star resorts in The Maldives. The bedroom was small, but had flatscreen Tv, working desk and a comfortable bed. Two large bottles of water is provided complimentary upon arrival and was found in the room as well. The bathroom had a nice outdoor feature with bathtub and shower separately and lovely organic products branded with Kurumba Maldives. As you can see in the video below the beach is just 1 minute walk from the villa itself which is very good for a standard room at these rates. If you are looking for a more luxurious villa, the top categories have even closer beach access. Kurumba Maldives don’t have any water villas so if you are looking for this, you will have to stay further away from Malé.
The service is always very important and I was satisfied with Kurumba. They delivered a good service level and better than I would expect with the low rates they have. In the summer period you can find incredible deals in The Maldives and Kurumba stands out as a really great one. Also note, the resorts located far away from Malé will charge you up to 400 dollars in return sea plane transfers or up to 200 dollars for boat transfers. The facilities included a beautiful designed spa and 7 restaurants total. I had lunch and dinner in the main buffet restaurant and I was very satisfied. I am usually not a buffet fan, but this was one of the better ones.
The bottom line is that Kurumba Maldives makes affordable luxury a possibility in The Maldives and they deserve a lot of credit for that. This is an excelllent choice for families looking for a great Maldivian experience and value for money at the same time.
My opinion: Great experience.
