Hotel Rio Sagrado by Orient-Express

Rio Sagrado is one of Orient-Express newer properties and after my stay I’m sad to conclude it’s the weakest I have experienced to date.

I must admit I love Orient-Express and it’s probably my favorite hotel chain in the world. Unique and different experiences all around the world. Rio Sagrado was one of these experiences as well. Beautiful located in Sacred Valley, but what made it the weakest property was the rooms and service. Service was good, but far from Monasterio’s service level where I just stayed. This property is much smaller with only 21 rooms and I expected excellent personalized service and I didn’t receive that.

I stayed in a junior suite and it was not up to the standard I expected either. It was comfortable, but no bath tub or Tv as it is in all of their rooms. The facilities included a nice spa, but in general it’s not an experience to remember. The property is probably the cheapest Orient-Express property in the world and in my opinion the weakest as well. 9 out of 10 sounds like a high score based on my review, but it still have a lot of Orient-Express standards, but lacks the wow factors as the others.

My opinion: Good+ experience.
