Hotel La Suite Kobe Harborland

When people ask me about my favourite hotel, it’s an impossible question to answer, because how do you define a single ideal hotel when there are so many different kinds of hotels?. I have stayed in great rooms, but where they service was missing, and I have stayed in hotels with exceptional service, but where the room was dated. Before selecting hotels you can do a lot of research, but you can never know how much you will like it before you stay there.

Hotel La Suite Harborland in Kobe is a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World and opened as a beautiful hotel with 70 rooms two years ago. Based on photos and reviews it looked great, but I did not expect it to be an unforgettable experience, but that’s what it was. I arrived in the hotel, and the bellboy welcomed me, took my bag and escorted me to the front disc for check in. The check in was very nice where the assistant General Manager escorted me to the room.

I stayed in a Grace Suite, and it was one of the biggest surprises I’ve had in a hotel. It was extremly beautiful and one of the best I’ve ever stayed. 169 square metres with 4 Tv’s, a japanese room and a large terrace with harbour view of Kobe. The bathroom is amazing with a great jacuzzi and fantastic design. The only thing I could complain about would be the internet. There is complimentary cable internet, but there is no wireless internet which it’s much preferred.

The service is really good and they are very attentive, although most staff have missing English skills. 80-90% of the guests in this hotel is from Japan so it’s perfectly understandable, however I could see the professionalism and had no problem in communicating with them. The breakfast was an experience in itself with great food and service.

Overall this is an experience not to be missed. You will be surprised, but one of the most interesting hotel experiences can be found in Kobe.

My opinion: Great+ experience.
