Hotel Heritage Bruges

Hotel Heritage is a member of Relais&Chateaux and that was my main reason for selecting it as one of my two hotels in Bruges.

I arrived in the hotel and had to wait up to 5 minutes for check in. I later read online that there often is only one receptionist in Hotel Heritage and that there can be long waits. Very annoying. I was finally ready to check in and after a short introduction to the hotel I received the key, but no escort to the room which was very disappointing.

I stayed in a Standard Room and it was one of the weakest I’ve stayed though my project. Extremly small, probably 10 square metres. The design was classical, but in my opinion out-dated. The best thing about the room was the comfortable bed, the bathroom products and the flatscreen Tv. The internet is complimentary, but had several connection problems though my stay.

Bruges Train Station is located 20 minutes walk from the city centre and Hotel Heritage. The location is one of the best things about this hotel where you have all the beautiful sights within walking distance.

The most important thing in a hotel is the service and it was overall good. The staff was very good, but they should have two receptionist in a Relais&Chateaux city hotel. The long wait at check in was definitely very annoying and others waited for help after me. The service in the restaurant was very good though and I had a great meal there as expected when Relais&Chateaux is involved.

Your experience in Hotel Heritage Bruges will depends on your personal preference. It was not my kind of hotel and the rooms is definitely some of the weakest I’ve stayed in. On the positive site is the great location and that it does have the 5C’s of Relais&Chateaux, but in a light version.

My opinion: Good experience.
