Buccament Bay Resort

St. Vincent is not famous for having luxury hotels and Buccament Bay that recently opened was the first of it’s kind in the country. With minimum rates at USD 1.000 pr. night I had high expectations. The arrival experience was very good where a lot of staff welcomes me before being escorted to the room.

I stayed in a one of their standard villas and it had a nice contemporary design, separate sitting area, dining table, comfortable bed and a private plunge pool. Really nice without being extraordinary. The USD 1.000 pr. night includes everything. It’s an all inclusive concept where you can order food or drinks any time. Everything is included. I generally don’t like all-inclusive concepts as the quality often is average.

Buccament Bay was no exception. Lunch was OK, but dinner was a scandal. The dinner buffet was cold when I came and I instead ordered food to the room. It was also cold and second time and I didn’t got what I ordered. Very shocking, but it’s a brand new hotel with it’s problems. The service was very good, but still needs a lot of training to become excellent. The surroundings is very beautiful with a great beach and the potential is extremy big here. I’m sure it can be a really great resort, but since they are going to extend it with nearly 200 villas I’m sure they can’t deliver what I’m looking for. However, it’s exactly what many people is looking for. It will be like Hawaii and there is a big market for that in the US.

My opinion: Great experience.
