Beau Rivage

Beau Rivage is a sister hotel to Tamassa where I already stayed. Their rates are close to each other, but the hotels are very different. Tamassa is a hotel with a focus on the younger generation and with funky design and Beau Rivage is complete opposite with classic design. I stayed in standard room, and it was comfortable, but nothing special when you have seen the world’s best rooms.

The most important thing in a hotel is the service, and it was good. Nothing special compared to the best hotels in the world, but you can’t expect that for the price you pay in Mauritius. It’s a choice for people that are looking for a comfortable luxury hotel to stay in Beau Rivage. The food was very good; I had lunch with chef Walter Lanfranchi. It was excellent and highly recommended. The dinner buffet is average, but I always hate buffets and think it has nothing to do with luxury. The facilities were good, though.

Overall I would call it a family choice in Mauritius. There are better hotels for a higher rate, but for families, this is a good choice.

My opinion: Good experience.
