Amarterra Villas opened last year as an independently owned resort, it immediately received excellent reviews everywhere and in the past 6 months Accor’s MGallery Collection has taken over the property.
My experience at Amarterra started with a warm welcome at front desk before being escorted to my villa. There a three kinds of villas at Amarterra. One, two and three bedroom which all are kept in the same beautiful design. 39 villas total at Amarterra and 32 of them are One Bedroom Villas of which I stayed in one of them. It had 200 square metres with a contemporary Balinese interiors, a large private swimming pool, separate shower from the bahtutb, but unfortunately cheaply produced Chinese products in the bathroom. The product is called Roger & Gallet and are used in many other MGallery properties. I personally didn’t like this product and would recommend to invest in a high end product like Molton Brown or L’Occitane to just name a few. The internet was quite fast and complimentary while the bed was nicely soft and comfortable.
The service at Amarterra is very good. The location of Bali makes a big difference where almost everyone has a fantastic attitude and always is smiling and helpful. I thought the food was quite okay for a small property. It’s often the problem with the smaller Balinese properties that they can’t afford to invest in a truly great chef and its same problem here. That being said the food was OK, but not more than that. I had a chance to try their spa and it was an authentic experience where they do a blessing before the treatment. The therapist was good, but their prices are too expensive as better spas are available at much lower prices all over Bali.
The beach is located 10 minutes from the resort and the hotel will take you there anytime, its a quite good beach, but for me the beach isn’t the reason to visit Bali. Finally, its worth to mention the beautiful public areas. Its a very beautifully designed resort where its hard not to have a great time. Keeping in mind the great villa product, I am happy to rank it as a great experience overall.
My opinion: Great experience.
